Comoran vanilla pods are broad, oily and flat, and often have a high vanillin content. They offer notes of undergrowth, berries and humus, and are particularly spicy.

The Comoros consist of four islands: Mayotte and three islands independent of France forming the Union of Comoros (Grande Comore, Anjouan and Moheli); Grande Comore is a volcanic island.

The main economic resource is the cultivation of vanilla. Anjouan is also volcanic but with much more forest, it is an island of fragrances, growing vanilla, cloves and ilang-ilang.

Moheli has a soil rich in clay that retains water. The Comoran vanilla pod is wide and flat, and often has a high vanillin content. Depending on its area of production, it has notes of undergrowth and berries (Grand Comore), humus, and spice (Anjouan).

 

The plain, slightly retro style of this gourmet tin offers shades of beige, caramel and chocolate... This range makes a wonderful addition to your cuisine, with superb flavours and excellent conservation.
